About the Event
Fireflies come to Northeast Florida in a short burst for around two to three weeks every year. Join our naturalist educators on an hour long moonlight hike through the estuarine habitat of the Fort George River to catch the fireflies on their migration journey and learn all about these amazing little insects along the way. In addition to fireflies, we may also get to witness other nightlife such as bats flying in the sky, frogs and toads looking for an evening snack, and hear owls hooting and singing during this family-friendly event.
Due to the sporatic timing of firefly activity, this program will be offered at 8:30pm on April 1st and April 6th and location will be announced via email the day before the event. Please let us know which date you will be attending by choosing the ticket option that corresponds to the date of your choice.Â
