About the Event
STEM Station: science in the great outdoors! This month, we'll embark on a half-day, naturalist led journey through the swampy forests of Fort Clinch State Park in search of alligators. During our hike, we will learn about the role of these misunderstood animals in the ecosystem and hopefully get to hear some alligator bellows, indicating the beginning of mating season. Our hike will lead us to the beach where we will make our own gator holes in the sand.
This STEM Station is appropriate for ages 8-12 and will take approximentally 5 hours. Please contact the Education Coordinator at mgrams@savethebuzztails.org if you have a child outside of this age range that you think would benefit from attending this event. Entrance fee is $6.00 per vehicle. Don't forget to bring a lunch!
