About the Event
This two-day course reviews and expands upon the concepts and techniques taught in Level 1 by diving deeper into classroom topics like advanced venom toxinology, snakebite case studies, first aid in a field setting, wildlife capture, and more; with more advanced hands-on techniques like capturing, restraining, sampling, and handling venomous snakes. This course includes a field day where students will assist in ongoing research with a wild population of rattlesnakes in a challenging outdoor environment.
Lodging and meals are not provided. There are hotels and restaurants within ~30min of the preserve, but you're encouraged to pack a lunch each day. The Level 1 Venomous Handling Certification Course is a pre-requisite for this course.
